About Us

Al Tahoe Firewise USA®, the largest Firewise USA® district in the Lake Tahoe Basin, works together to prepare our community against wildfires. We organize annual community work days, participate in South Lake Tahoe’s fire-themed events like Fire Fest and the Wildfire Safety Expo, and gather for community meetings and forums. Al Tahoe Firewise USA® has hosted federal, state, and local fire agencies and representatives including California Insurance Commissioner, Ricardo Lara, United States Congressman, Kevin Kiley, and California State Senator, Marie Alvarado-Gil.
